“ I’ve come in multiple times now and I absolutely adore it. The baristas are so sweet and knowledgeable, the menu is creative and has a wide range of options- not to mention delicious! I feel so cozy every time I come in. The owner is very sweet and it was endearing to hear her conversations with the employees. Sadly, I’m moving out of town but I’ll be back whenever I visit! ”
“ A Bright Start to My Morning Thanks to Laken! I stopped by the coffee shop this morning and had the pleasure of being helped by Laken at the register. Right away, her energy stood out—friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Even with a busy line behind me, she didn’t rush the interaction. She asked about my day, offered great drink suggestions, and somehow made a routine coffee stop feel personal. My morning before this had been terrible and Laken went out of her way to change the course of my day. She seemed so caring despite only meeting me for the first time! When I go back to this coffee shop I will ask for Laken!!! I have never been cared for this greatly in customer service and I will forever remember this first instance at The Coffee Shelf. Thank you Laken!!!! PS. I never make reviews for places, never have and probably never will again, but I just had to today because Laken's customer service was absolutely phenomenal! ”
“ Let me tell you about the Coffee Shelf, folks. The coffee here is just phenomenal, the service too. One of the best in the nation, maybe the world. And believe me, I know pastries. Someone bumped into me in the parking lot and I spilled scalding hot coffee all over myself. Big mistake. Could have been a catastrophe. Three baristas ran outside with nunchucks to protect me. I saw one of them perform a perfect tornado kick, coffee in hand. She didn't spill a single drop. It was like watching a Bruce Lee movie. It was over before I knew what happened, but this was an average day for these ladies. They just went inside—calm, collected—to continue making excellent coffee and pastries. No words, no ego. Pure mastery. 11/10 ”

They have bookcases with a variety of selections if you’d like to read while enjoying your beverage... and you can trade a book of your own if you’d find something you’d like to take with you. Neat place next time you’re in Chapin or want a new “local” coffee/reading spot to check out! I stopped by on the way to a client’s soon-to-be homesite ”
